Trek through green wilderness

Walking under canopy of high-rise bamboo forest, amidst clouud forest, bushwhacking through thickets, stepping down steep trails amidst dense vegetation, sometimes on slippery tracks. This expedition will be unlike any other!

Immerse into nature

With stays arranged in nature based lodges, your journey will be filled with tropical sights and smells - coos of birds, faint gibbers of primates, sights of butterflies on wildflowers, sunlight streaming through canopy of giant plants, sound of pounding rain. At times, it will be just the sound of wind passing through the forest & your heartbeats!

Meet the Gorilla Family

Witnessing them in their most natural habitat is an extraordinary experience. The sight of mama gorilla lovingly caressing her baby, the silverback walking, or the juveniles playing is a sensory memory, that deeply moves the heart of many

Encounter Chimpanzees

Unlike the mountain gorillas, Chimpanzees are very vocal & mobile. They are famous for being heard from a distance, before finally catching a sight of hopping across tree tops, foraging some fruits or hunting for mammals.

See the White Colobus

The largest troop in Nyungwe other than the chimpanzees, there are about 350 – 400 individuals comprising the largest group of the Angolan Colobus Monkeys in Africa.

Admire the Golden Monkeys

A rare endangered species, they are known to have unique characters. They can be easily tracked, as they live right below Volcanoes Mountain, swinging from bamboo tree to another.

How your participation makes the difference

10% of the revenue from gorilla trekking permits are used for conservation & community development, so your Rwanda gorilla trek will directly contribute to the protection of these beautiful creatures & the surrounding communities

Hiring Porters for Your trek

We encourage to make it a conscious practice to hire porters, as part of contribution in preserving the people who depend on this activity for their living, as well as their role in conserving our endangered cousins
