Expedition Overview

Summer in the high arctic gives us another opportunity to explore one of the most remote corners of the world. Part of the Russian high arctic national park, just 90 km away from the north pole, sits the northernmost archipelago of the world which remains undiscovered, thanks to the difficulty of accessing this nature haven. Join us on this unique sailing expedition, if exploring this area has been on your bucket list forever

Day 1

Oslo

With overnight booked on first day, take your time exploring before departing to Svalbard

Day 2

Longyearbyen

Travel to Longyearbyen, the northernmost settlement of the world, where are ships awaits embarkation

Day 3-4

At sea

Enjoy your days spotting glaciers or wildlife from deck as we head towards Franz Josef Land

Day 5-11

Franz Josef Land

Spend days exploring the entirety of this dramatic remote land, surrounded with wilderness and wildlife

Day 12-13

Spitsbergen National Park

As we head back to Svalbard, we explore the southern tip in search of polar bears and abundant arctic wilderness

Day 14

Longyearbyen to Oslo

Our expedition ends, with flight back to Norway's capital Oslo

Explore raw wilderness of Russian High Arctic

Discover the islands’ hidden treasures. See historical site of Cape Norway, basalt columns of Rubini Rock, mysterious stone spheres of Champ island & much more

Spend two days in pristine polar wilderness haven

On return to Longyearbyen, detour to this park to see countless glaciers cascading from soaring mountaintops into icy inlets at Hornsund. We might also explore North Isforden National Park known for its striking geological features

Sight the mighty Polar Bear

You might see them caring for their cubs, roaming across the vast tundra wilderness, hunting for prey. Remarkably close viewing can sometimes be had from the ship or on a Zodiac cruise, keeping safety utmost priority

Immense Birds

The birdlife by tens of thousands covering cliff faces going about their business of breeding and feeding their young during the short summer season, will be one of the most incredible sights to remember

And rich variety of Marine life!

Whales, seals, walrus...

While crossing Barents Sea spot numerous whale species, like humpback, fin & endangered bowhead. Insides of Franz Josef are home to seals, like harp, bearded; a large population of walrus, with visits by beluga & even narwhals

Enjoy Zodiac Cruising

The expedition team will take you on land on sturdy inflated rubber boats, to observe stunning wildlife, watch icebergs up close, or simply admire the views of a particular site, as part of your included experience

Get Offshore

Explore Franz Josef's unique islands, monuments, memorials, remains of makeshift dwellings, unique flora and fauna, on foot. The same style of exploration is followed in Spitsbergen as & when conditions allow

Photography Workshops

Take chance to learn & practice photography alongside an experienced professional via on board lectures or special workshops during landings. Explore the key elements of photography, experiment with techniques, all for free!

Join Sea Kayak Club

If paddling is an activity you greatly enjoy, sign up to participate for kayaking with an intimate group of just 8, guided by a professional, with unlimited opportunities throughout the sailing, subject to weather conditions

MV Sea Spirit

Enjoy an intimate atmosphere aboard this small expedition ship, with a capacity of just 114. Its ice-strengthened hull, ample deck space for wildlife viewing, & state-of-the-art fin stabilizers, make it ideal for polar expeditions

Bridge Visit

The captain & officers welcome you to visit them at the Bridge any time, to have a simple chit chat, discuss their life on board, their experience in polar regions or simply watch the views from the special angle.

Outdoor Bistro

The top deck of the ship features an outdoor bistro, with a jacuzzi, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views while you share meals with fellow travelers or simply sitting to have a hot chocolate

Features all - suite accommodations. Each spacious, every cabin's well-appointed location across the decks provides a generous measure of comfort.
