Join us on a five day dog sledding expedition to the east coast of Spitsbergen. Just you and your dog team in an enormous, chalk-white desert. The interaction between the dogs and the musher is demanding, but also rewarding. We spend 4 nights in tents in different locations during the expedition, with the dogs surrounding our camp.
In coordination with Norwegian Institute of Publich Health, WHO and local authorities, strict protocols are in place to ensure safety of all for stays, accommodations, food, activities, entries and exits. Our expedition consultant will walk you through in detail of these measures
During this tour you will gain a real appreciation for the happy huskies & their quiet strength. You will get to know each of your dogs by name & their unique personalities.
The eager polar dogs will drag the sleds loyally through Spitsbergen’s amazing valleys, up narrow river paths and over soft, snow-covered plains. The dogs bark with excitement every time we begin sledding
An underworld hidden to all who haven’t made their way into the deep. Stuck in the ice you can see 1000 year old remnants of frozen plants, fantastic ice formations, narrow passages and big caverns.
The guide leads with 2 guests, & the following sleds will be driven by 2 guests, who can swap between driving & sitting in the sled. The dogs are very friendly. Training will be given before we begin!
Help to feed the dogs, & get them ready to mush! In this expedition we work together to ensure the most enjoyable trip for participants, guide and dogs.
