As soon as the sun is hidden under the horizon, Longyearbyen becomes a magical place often lit only by street-lamps, the northern lights and the moon which glitters in the snow. A glittering world made by the summer meltwater running through the ancient ice, exploring this amazing underworld with its open halls, tight passages and thick layers of ice crystals.
Part of your ice caving experience, start from the top of town & continue with a snow-shoe hike to about 400 metres above sea level to a glacier. After about one & a half hours we will arrive at the entrance to the cave.
