With a two nights stay in charming city of Quito, Cusco and another night in Lima, this expedition provides the chance to tick off two of South America's wonders in one journey - Machu Picchu and Gálapagos. Post 5 days of land adventure, enjoy another five days of exploration and island hopping through western Gálapagos. The landings call at Isabela and Floreana, at the volcanic island of Fernandina, and the centrally located Santa Cruz Island. There's all the snorkelling gear you’ll need to explore some pretty amazing places where you might see placid turtles, colourful fish, diving marine iguanas & curious sea lions performing underwater acrobatics. Wetsuits are available on hire.
Walk on the white beaches Las Bechas, hike up to see colonies of birds, watch giant tortoises lumber through the undergrowth on Santa Cruz, or walk to the sea lion colony. There will be many such opportunities during the journey
Arguably the most iconic Galápagos animal! An estimated 20,000-25,000 inhibit the islands. Distinguished based on shell types, we will be on look out for both domed & saddle-backed carapace
These spiky-looking reptiles can be seen on several islands. Two species are endemic to Galapagos - marine and endangered pink iguana, of which only 200 are left
Half of all breeding pairs of blue-footed boobies live on the Galapagos Islands. Many blink their eyes twice, when they also spot the less common Red-footed booby
The unique defining factor of Galapagos are the wide range of species found only in this region. Apart from 4 species mentioned, also spot Galapagos penguins, sea lions, flamingos, hawks, fur seals.
